What Are Freezer Labels Made From?

Our Freezer Labels are printed on matt white paper, combined with a wood-free kraft backing paper. They also have a special adhesive that has been tested to be effective down to minus 40°C, making them ideal for food labeling in cold temperatures. But when applying or re-positioning, this should be done above 0°C, ideally when you are first applying them to the product.

It’s important to ensure you’re using the correct label for the particular application, and so using our regular printing labels would not be ideal for freezer use. These labels have been made specifically for colder temperatures, and are ideal for personal and business use where food, drink or other perishable materials need to be stored clearly.

What Uses Do Freezer Labels Have?

Although these labels are created explicitly for freezer use, they can be used in a number of different ways, including:

Frozen Food Labelling
Freezer labels are ideal for use in the food industry, for labelling items that are chilled or put in the deep freeze. Small retail outlets often use freezer labels such as butchers shops, farm shops for own labelling of frozen food products. It is important to accurately label food that is being stored, whether use by or sell-by dates, ingredients, cooking instructions or allergy information. This is especially important for businesses that are reliant on strict labelling and tracking, plus for home use, as food can often be forgotten about in the freezer, meaning you might not know when it was bought or cooked.

Freezer Labels For Medical & Research Sample Labelling
These labels are also Ideal for medical use in hospitals, doctors surgeries and medical labs where items are put into cold storage or kept in laboratory conditions. They are ideal for hospitals and labs for labelling medical samples and research sample labelling. Being able to easily identify samples and other items used for research is extremely important, and so these freezer labels could be key in that process. These labels have been tested down to minus 40°C, and so will work at temperatures in this range.

Perishables Storage
Freezer labels can be used for perishables or items that are stored in freezers. It can be difficult to clearly see something that has been frozen, so these labels can help clearly show what it is.
